Internet Governance Forum 2008
The third meeting of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum was held at HICC from 3rd-6th December. The meeting was open to all members of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) accredited entities, as well as other institutions and persons with proven expertise and experience in matters related to internet governance.
Thanksgiving dinner
Novotel Hyderabad hosted the Thanksgiving dinner on the 27th November. The event is traditionally seen as harvest festival of America and is celebrated widely by the expats living in the city. Roasted turkey with green apple and champagne sorbet were a part of the special preparations of the day.
ACU 2008
The Association of Commonwealth Universities founded in 1912 is the worlds oldest inter-university network. Approximately 500 universities across the Commonwealth are members of ACU. ACU 2008 was held at HICC from 28th-30th November. The event was organised to facilitate internationalisation and for sharing of problems, solutions and best practices across a variety of higher education environments.
RSSDI 2008
The 36th Annual Conference of the Research Society for Study of Diabetes was organized by the largest organisation for diabetes healthcare professionals and researchers of Asia at HICC from 21st–23rd November.
Asian Seed Congress 2008
The Asian Seed Congress 2008 (ASC 2008) was organized by the Asia & Pacific Seed Association (APSA) at Hyderabad International Convention Centre from 9th-12th November. The event came to India with a mission to create sustainable agricultural practices for the production and trade of quality seeds. Activities at ASC 2008 included technical sessions and an exhibition. Systematic interchange of information and networking with other organizations were facilitated in the trade rooms set up for this purpose and in the B2B session.
Alyque Padamsee's 'Unspoken Dialogues'
One would invariably fall short of words if one had to describe Alyque Padamsee’s spellbinding performance at the HICC on 1st November. A montage of unusual scenes and excerpts were adapted into an evening of brilliant theatre experience. As the stories unfurled one after the other, the audience was infused into responses of shock, anger, bereavement, sympathy, and laughter. Unspoken Dialogues gave way to hidden secrets, buried troubled thoughts and shocking revelations.
